Chronology of cameras Butcher
In 1913/14, the Cameo series of cameras consisted of three models: the basic Model 0, the Model I with a single extension, and the Model II with a double extension. The Model 0 is very different from the other two, and if it is an outsourced production, it likely does not have the same origin as the Model I and II, which are almost identical.
The Model 0 is made of hardwood, covered with faux leather. The interior is enamel-painted black, and the metal parts are either nickel-plated or enamel-painted black. The lens support can move vertically. There is no rack-and-pinion for focusing; instead, you need to use the locking lever to pull it.
The Model 0 comes in four variations (0, 00, 000, and 0000) depending on the lens and shutter they are equipped with.
Lens | Shutter | |
Model 0 | Primus Single Achromatique f/11 | Lukos N° 1 |
Model 00 | Primus Rapid Rectilinear f/8 | Lukos N° 1 |
Model 000 | Beck Rapid Symmetrical f/8 | Lukos N° 2 |
Model 0000 | Aldis Uno Anastigmat f/7.7 | Lukos N° 2 |
*McKeown attributes a German origin to the cameras in this series.__________
